May 8 - World Thalassemia Day was celebrated by the Patient Protection Society team at the Burhani Blood Bank and Thalassemia Center with children affected by thalassemia. The Corona Lockdown had created the devastating effect on the supply of fresh blood to children with thalassemia, but now Burhani Blood Bank and Thalassemia Center has been able to overcome it with the help of their generous blood donors. There is still a need for new blood donors for regular blood supply.
On this occasion, Ramadan gift packs were distributed among the children and fun activities were organized for the happiness of the children. The Patient Protection Society celebrates the day with these innocent children every year. Mirza Intikhab Alam, President of the Patient Protection Society, said that on this special day, we are also aware of the concerns of parents and families of children with thalassemia. The lockdown has had a detrimental effect on employment, so this year we have offered gifts to facilitate Iftar dinners in Ramazan.
