who we are
Patient Protection Society is a non-political, non-sectarian voluntary, not for profit organization. It is registered under the voluntary social welfare agencies ordinance 1961. Our areas of endeavors are Health, Environment and Emergency Response. We are constantly working to improve access to services for low-income communities. We provide primary health facilities, quality family planning; post-abortion care; maternal and child health care including diagnosis and treatment of general infections and sexually transmitted infections; and HIV/AIDS prevention.
What We Do
Patient Protection Society is formally founded in 1995. A group of individuals started its journey of intervention in health zone from a public sector hospital in Malir Khokharapar with the title of Yaqoob Mirza Memorial Dispensary & Ultrasound Center by Mirza Intekhab Alam who was seriously concerned about the health in poor communities. Overall Objectives of Patient Protection Society are to contribute to the reduction in the prevalence of HIV/AID and Hepatitis and to slowed population growth in Pakistan. Patient Protection Society is Partner with national and international organizations in campaigns for the awareness of Reproductive health and infections control. Patient Protection Society’s programs are designed to reduce high numbers of deaths and illnesses resulting from complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Patient Protection Society is striving for the reduction of MMR (Maternal mortality rate) in Sindh province by training Community Midwives, Traditional Birth attendants and Community Health Attendants.
